The Best Things to do in Tenerife in November 2015

When we started to put together the list of things to do in Tenerife in November 2015 and the schedule of events on the island or the month, we were worried that perhaps there were not going to be many events to recommend. The surprise was great when we finished searching and realised that not only are there lots, but they are varied, which is a pleasure.

As we always point out to you, as well as the events, concerts and festivals which we believe might interest you this November in Tenerife we have chosen other activities which can be done in Tenerife throughout nearly the whole year.

2nd October to 15th November – IX Exhibition of the pippin apple in El Sauzal with a wide variety of events and competitions.

26th October to 29th November – Adeje: Cheese, Honey and Gofio

2nd November – Monday after All Saints’ Day

29th and 30th November – Las Tablas de San Andrés is celebrated in Icod de Los Vinos and in Chío (Guia de Isora), when mostly young people (and some not so young…) throw themselves down the inclined streets on (generally wooden) boards or planks, reaching speeds of up to 50 km/h. This is one of the festivals that many are waiting for the whole year, and the prizes are given to the fastest and most beautiful cars per age. Not to miss!

29th November - ‘Correr el cacharro’ in the area of Valle de La Orotava is when many residents dig out old items made from tin or brass and tie them to a rope, to run with them and celebrate this night eating chestnuts and salty fish.

Things to do in Tenerife in November 2015 Concerts and Musical Events

2nd October to 13th November (every Friday) – at the Keroxen 2015 festival you will have the opportunity to participate in interesting concerts at the Espacio Cultural El Tanque in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where you can discover new and exciting artistic offerings.

5th November – the pianist Daniel Amat and his Afro-Cuban Jazz Quartet will perform in the Otoño Cultural at the Espacio Cultural CajaCanarias at 8pm. Tickets cost €10.

5th to 8th November – Disney LIVE! – TENERIFE at the Pabellón Santiago Martín. Prices range from €12.80 to €19.80. There are shows at 6pm and 7pm (on some days).

6th November – a Bolero music concert by Mencey Romántico at 9pm at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna. Tickets are €10.

6th November – classical music concert by Víctor Pablo Pérez and Roberto Prosseda at the Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín in Santa Cruz at 8:30pm. Tickets are from €11 to €33.

6th November – Luis Eduardo Aute in concert on his Luna tour at the Tebaldo Power Auditorium at 9pm. Tickets cost €25.

14th November – concert by Vargas Blues & Lance Lopez at the Espacio Cultural Aguere in La Laguna at 10pm. Tickets for entry are €15.

21st November – ‘The Dire Straits Experience’ with the original members of the band in Magma from 9:30pm. Tickets cost from €37 to €100 for VIP. No doubt it is one of the best things to do in Tenerife in November 2015.

21st November – extraordinary gospel jazz music concert by Santa Cecilia in Arafo at the Auditorio Juan Carlos I at 8:30pm. Entry is €3.

24th November – ‘El Trovador’ by Verdi at the Auditorio Adán Martín in Santa Cruz at 8:30pm. Prices range from €15 to €70.

26th November – concert by Nahuel Pannisi, an Argentinean singer, and Atlantes at the Auditorio Teobaldo Power in La Orotava. It starts at 9pm and the ticket price is €17 per person.

27th November – concert by the Tunisian and lute player Dhafer Youssef. He will perform in Otoño Cultural at the Espacio Cultural CajaCanarias at 8pm. Tickets are €30.

Things to do in Tenerife in November 2015 - Exhibitions and Other Events

30th October to 2nd November – ‘A Day with Peppa’ at the Pabellón Pancho Camurria. Tickets cost from €15 to €19 and the timings vary between 10:30am and 4pm. The show lasts 4 hours and children can get to know the characters from the series and take photos with them.

1st October to 30th November – at the Espacio Cultural CajaCanarias in Santa Cruz there will be various concerts by national and international artists, children’s activities, current affairs debates, etc.

3rd October to 14th November – Ten-Diez Movement at Baobab Suites (5 star).

22nd September to 13th December – Exhibition entitled ‘Aedificator. Reflexiones sobre lo urbano’ by Javier de la Rosa. Open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 8pm, at the TEA in Santa Cruz.

21st October to 21st November – at the Museum of Science and the Cosmos there will be children’s workshops called ‘Chapuzón Cósmico’ from 11:30 to 1pm every day. It is aimed at children aged 7 to 11 and is free.

1st to 5th November – an underwater photography exhibition by Francis Pérez at the Castillo de San Felipe in Puerto de la Cruz.

8th November – SIMPLICISSIMUS at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna at 12pm. It is a childish homage to the variety shows of the 20th Century which mixed different musical styles with performances by clowns, acrobatics and puppet shows. Tickets range from €6 to €10.

9th to 15th November - V International Festival of Puerto de la Cruz, where tribute will be paid to Agatha Christie that visited El Puerto in 1927. Her only grandson will be there and a cruise from Southampton will reach the island with many fans of the writer. Since you will be there, maybe a good opportunity to overnight at the fabulous Hotel Botanico and enjoy pleasant day at the well-known Loro Parque.

12th to 14th November – X Festival de Cortos 2015 Villa de La Orotava which is celebrated in the Auditorio Teobaldo Power in La Orotava at 8:30pm. Entry is €6.

13th November – culture and democratic society will be discussed at ‘El Mundo que Queremos’ with Luis García Montero and at the end there will be a short recital by Miguel Ríos at the Espacio Cultural CajaCanarias in Santa Cruz at 8pm. Entry is €5.

20th November – ‘La piedra oscura’ is a representation in which justice and redemption are offered to those who still remain buried in ditches in Spain. Tickets range from €8 to €15 and it will take place in the Teatro Leal at 9pm.

28th November – La Noche en Blanco 2015 in La Laguna.

Things to do in Tenerife in November 2015 - Sporting and Theme Events

1st November to 31st January – Fotonoviembre 2015, the 8th Two-Yearly International Photography Show in Tenerife, which is mainly based at the TEA but which shows photographs in different locations around the island. One of the top things to do in Tenerife in November 2015.

1st November – at the Our Place bar in Costa del Silencio they will have a collection for cancer charities in Tenerife with a range of performances and tastings. The donations are €5 or more, they are  optional.

2nd October to 2nd November – Circo Alegria On Ice in La Laguna near the Guajara Campus of the University. Tickets for children aged 1 to 10 range from €9.50 to €31.50, and adult tickets are from €17.50 to €36.50.

30th October to 7th November – MiradasDoc 2015 en Guía de Isora is this year dedicated to films with a social theme or shot in developing or third world countries.

3rd to 30th November – X Ruta de la Tapa in the different bars in La Orotava. The price of each snack is €2.50.

4th November – XI Seminar on themed hiking in Taganana.

8th November – SERTRI Tenerife 2015 Triathlon, promoted by the SER network in Spain, will be held in Arona and includes also the modalities Supersprint and Women’s Thriatlon.

5th to 9th November – winter sales show at the Recinto Ferial de Tenerife, where you will be able to find all kinds of offers.

15th November – Santa Cruz Marathon with different distances (8, 21 and 42 km).

22nd and 23rd November – beauty festival at the Recinto Ferial de Tenerife.

20th November to 7th December – XX International Story Festival in Los Silos.

28th November – the Tenerife Bluetrail has a new date to the mountain race. It has five classifications with different categories, and it is one of our best things to do in Tenerife in November 2015.

Other Activities and Things to do in Tenerife in November 2015

If you find yourself on the south of the island, Jungle Park is the only authentic jungle in Europe, where all kinds of animals live together and there are varied shows with almost all the birds they have. The birds of prey show makes the attractions of this park one of the best things to do in Tenerife in November 2015.

Although it seems impossible to us, if you find that Tenerife is too small, why not take a day trip from Tenerife to La Gomera? You will discover an authentic island, its customs and beautiful landscapes in a panoramic way.

Having breakfast on a clear morning in a vineyard sounds good, doesn’t it? Or maybe a wine and cheese tour? To do that you should head for Bodegas Monje, and without doubt their tours will not leave you feeling indifferent.

Patea tus montes invite you to abseil in the La Bóveda Ravine now that winter is coming. It is a fun and dynamic experience which you can do with friends.

El Cardón NaturExperience has a wide variety of activities which you can try at any time of year, but in November we recommend doing ‘Secretos de las montañas de Teno’, and we’re sure you won’t be disappointed by what you learn and enjoy.
