Best things to do in Tenerife in May 2017

May is the month of flowers, and Tenerife is flowerier than ever ... Or at least that's how it seems to us. Trees full of flowers, orange colours on lots of the slopes in the north of the island, and bougainvillea full of vivid colours ...

Other activities and things to do in Tenerife

A perfect month to spend lots of time away from the house, enjoying the start of the good weather (although in the Canaries pleasant temperatures are pretty much a constant) and not wasting a single moment as a family, with friends or alone. Do not let the opportunity to enjoy your loved ones' company while doing something different pass you by ... Try it at least once a month and forget about routine for a moment.

And as always, at the end of this schedule you'll find our suggestions. Don't forget that all the activities that we describe to you have been tried and tested by us, so we guarantee an unforgettable experience.

Other activities and things to do in Tenerife in May 2017

As always after the scheduled activities on the island, here is our special list of things to try in Tenerife at any time of year. You just need motivation and some free time ...

The question should be, "Who hasn't been to Loro Parque?" If you are one of the few, it's not a problem. The opportunity to visit one of the best zoos in the world is waiting for you, and it’s one of the best things to do in Tenerife in May 2017.

And as always, we include an aquatic option ... Aqualand Costa Adeje is the ideal place for the whole family, without exception, to have a fun day. There are water-based attractions for everyone.

There are nine golf courses in Tenerife and, as the low season is just starting, you can plan to try out some of the greens at Golf del Sur.

Although the weather improves with every passing minute, if at some point it's cloudy in the north (where the temperatures are a bit fresher) you can always escape to Santa Cruz and go for a dip at the Parque Marítimo.

One of Tenerife's best-kept secrets (although becoming increasingly well-known) is the Los Arcos ravine, and our friends at Patea tus montes make it very easy to access this natural treasure.

Our friends from Cardón NaturExperience invite you to try a trip in a sea kayak. The good weather is here, but the water is still a little cold for my liking. Not to worry – unless someone bumps into you and you capsize, you won't get too wet in a kayak On top of that, you'll get to see the island from another perspective – a real luxury!

Everything we've suggested so far has been at ground level, but how would you feel about climbing to the highest point in Spain and enjoying an exceptional sunset with Volcano Teide Experience?
