...an All Inclusive Package for Unforgettable Moments with Your Family

Bahia Principe Tenerife and Bahia del Principe Costa Adeje are located on the top of a cliff and are surrounded on both sides by two coves where you can swim, but they are rocky and getting to them is complicated. However, if you stay at the Bahía Príncipe Resort (in any of both hotels) you will not need to worry about getting to the coves, because there are various swimming pools within the premises of the resort, one of which has spectacular views of the Atlantic in general and the coves in particular.

The resort is in a privileged part of the island, where the average temperature is between 20 and 26 degrees almost throughout the year.

Tenerife Travel Secret

The gardens which surround all the facilities of the two hotels are large and are inhabited by small animals (like the Tenerife Lizard and the canary, a beautiful yellow bird which is typical of the Canary Islands), and they also help to give you some necessary fresh air on intensely hot days.

There are eight different types of palm tree (from the Washingtonia with its typical leaves to the Cocos nucifera).

Access for disabled people is guaranteed at the resort. There is internet access in the bedrooms (with a charge for usage) and in the hotel lobbies (for free) of the Bahia Principe Tenerife and Costa Adeje.

Tenerife Travel Secret

Like so many other hotels on the island, Bahía del Príncipe Resort takes its commitment to the environment seriously and tries to care for and protect the area around it. For that reason they are strict about recycling waste and use neutral antibacterial products and disinfectants which are not harmful to the environment. The Resort is self-sufficient for 40% of its energy requirements, having put in place solar panels and having their own desalination plant where they produce drinking water. Finally, but no less importantly, they collaborate with the Adeje Council in keeping the sea beds in the area clean.

As a guarantee of its quality, the resort has been given the award of the Best Hotel for Family Holidays by First Choice, Jet Tours, Hotels for You, Thomas Cook and Hotel Pla. That’s already enough assurance that you will spend fantastic holidays with your Family – your Familymoon!

Communal Areas at the Bahia Principe Tenerife

The Teide Restaurant serves international food on a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

At the Doña Lupita Restaurant (à la carte), you will be able to enjoy the most delicious Mexican dishes.

The Asia Restaurant (à la carte) will provide a variety of Asian dishes.

As we mentioned in the page of the Bahía Príncipe Costa Adeje, being an ‘all-inclusive’ hotel means that all local alcoholic drinks and soft drinks are included in your reservation there. For that reason, don’t hesitate to visit and enjoy either of the two bars which the Bahía Príncipe Tenerife offers: in the hotel lobby and by the pool.

There are two swimming pools with plenty of space for sunbathing and parasols so that you can stay protected from the intense sun. One of the pools is in the shape of a lake and is partly heated in the winter, and the other is for children.

Some of the pool activities are aqua-splash and more general games. There is a wide variety of activities throughout the day, unlimited drinks at the pool bar (not including international drinks and the wine list), an outdoor Jacuzzi and a towel exchange (deposit required).

All-Inclusive and Extra Costs

So that there are no doubts, here is a detailed list of the services which are included in your reservation of the Bahia Principe Tenerife:

  • Towel service for the pool (deposit required), deck chairs and parasols.
  • The games, adult and children’s activities (day and night), the ones scheduled in the Mini-Club (4 to 12 years old), mini golf, archery, diving for beginners in the pool, the gym and the shows at night.

Three dinners in the speciality restaurants per week of your stay (reservation required), as well as house drinks and soft drinks at the Lobby Bar and Pool Bar. You will be able to get fast food and drinks at ‘El Puertito’ until 11pm and after that time at the Pueblo Príncipe snack bar.
  • Use of the services and facilities at the Bahía Príncipe Costa Adeje.
  • All of the local taxes and parking.

In general, anything which is not specified as being ‘Included’ is not included in your ‘all-inclusive’ package:

  • Babysitting service (children up to 12 years old, reservation required), massages and body treatments at the Bahía Spa, the laundry service, the doctor, and a safe in your room.
  • International drinks and the wine list, or the minibar in your room.

The majority of the 259 bedrooms look out to sea and are spread over pretty four-storey blocks. Generally (and subject to availability), when you finalise your booking you will be able to choose the exact location of your bedroom up to 10 days before your stay.

The 32 Standard rooms (30m2) of the Bahia Principe Tenerife have two single or king size beds, air conditioning and a ceiling fan, a bathroom with shower, Satellite TV, a minibar, a safe (which incurs a charge if used) and a balcony or terrace. The maximum capacity is three adults or two adults and one child.

The other 99 Standard bedrooms look out over the sea (30m2) and have two single or king size beds, air conditioning and a ceiling fan, a bathroom with bathtub, Satellite TV, a phone, a safe (which incurs a charge if used) and a balcony or terrace. The maximum capacity is two adults or two adults and one child.

The 128 Junior Suite bedrooms (50m2) of the Bahia Principe Tenerife have two comfortable single beds or one king size bed, air conditioning and a ceiling fan, a bathroom with whirlpool bath, Satellite TV, a minibar, a safe (which incurs a charge if used), a living area with a sofa bed and a balcony or terrace. The maximum capacity is three adults or two adults and two children.

Extras at the Bahia del Principe Resort

Another of the big advantages of the resort is that in between the two hotels they share a beautiful shopping centre which is like being in a typical square in a Caribbean town. It is called the ‘Pueblo Príncipe’ and you will find different bars there including:

  • Sports Bar La Fiesta (open until 1am) where you can enjoy almost any sporting event
  • Snack Bar (open until 7am)
  • Disco La Fiesta where you can enjoy a night of dancing until 2am.

If you need one there are three pharmacies 1km away.

If what you want is to relax even more than just at the pool and in the sun in the hammock area, we suggest that you head to the Bahía Spa where they offer you a wide menu of massages and treatments which can be done in the open air or in the Spa’s facilities. Let yourself be pampered with one of the massages, like the one for ‘Eternal Youth’, body treatments, facials, beauty treatments or the Finnish sauna.

Lastly we will talk about work. If your reason for visiting Tenerife is work-related, we don’t think that there is a better place to hold your meetings, with the incentive of ‘al-inclusive’ services.

Getting There

The resort is in the prestigious area of Costa Adeje in the Playa Paraíso Urbanisation, on Calle Idafe. It has beautiful views of the Atlantic and the island of La Gomera.

Tenerife Travel Secret

So you don’t come to the wrong conclusion, the resort is not located in the typical hotel area in Costa Adeje (it is 15km from Playa de las Américas). It is in a separate area and it has a special charm, so we recommend that you hire a car if you plan to visit other locations on the island or look up the timetables and routes for the buses which frequently pass nearby the hotel

To get to the Playa Paraíso Urbanisation you should take the road called ‘El Puertito’.

The Bahía Príncipe Resort is located just 30 minutes from the South airport and 10 minutes from Playa de las Américas.

Final Comments from the Authors

The two hotels - Bahia Principe Tenerife and Bahia Principe Costa Adeje - are found in an area a little way away from Adeje, but they are well connected by public transport if you don’t want to hire a car. The location makes the hotels an ideal destination for enjoying relaxing holidays and even to an extent disconnecting from reality … They have everything you will need in the area between the two hotels to enjoy ideal holidays.

As we mentioned above, all those awards for best hotel with Families, gives you a guarantee that you can spend fantastic days with your family there. That puts the resort in our list of recommendation for a nice Familymoon!

I particularly loved the Bahía Príncipe Costa Adeje because of the spectacular views of the cove at the side of the hotel from the pool. I think I could spend many hours there, being toasted by the sun and having a nice refreshing juice 🙂

But being just next door and with the same quality of its "brother", the Hotel Bahia Principe Tenerife is a perfect option for you in Tenerife.
