… Elegant and Peaceful Tourism

Costa Adeje Tenerife is perfect for tourists who want to go off the beaten track, and enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

Costa Adeje Tenerife is one of the newest and most prestigious resorts in Tenerife, and it has the best accommodation options. Located right next to Playa de las Américas, Costa Adeje has emerged in recent years as a place for exclusive and refined tourism.

Costa Adeje has an average temperature of 25 °C and is mostly sunny. The sea is calm, the sand is clean and the beach facilities are very high quality. All of these things lead to Costa Adeje being one of the most popular tourist destinations in Tenerife.

We like to help you get to know the towns, cities or places you decide to visit in Tenerife. For this reason, we have come up with this particular walking route through Costa Adeje. Similar to our routes through Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas, this walk revolves mainly around the beach area – which is never a bad place to start! 😊

Starting from Puerto Colón in Playa de Las Américas, you come across Playa de La Pinta – which is a shell-shaped beach with golden sand and calm waters. The most famous beaches in the area are Playa de Torviscas and Playa de Fañabé. They are both connected to each other, and are covered with fine grey-gold sand. The sea is also calm here, so the area attracts a lot of swimmers and bathers. The next beach worth mentioning is Playa del Duque, which is 700m in length and is usually very quiet. This beach belongs to a hotel of the same name, but it is not reserved exclusively for guests. Playa de Diego Hernández (or Playa Blanca) is located just outside of the tourist area and is a little harder to get to. Located between the two fishing villages of La Caleta and El Puertito de Adeje, it is 200m in length, is covered with fine golden sand and has very calm waters. Tip: nudism is permitted on this beach.

There are several choices of water-based activities on almost all of these beaches, such as water skiing, windsurfing, paddle-boarding and scuba diving. If you prefer to have the ground beneath your feet and to have fun in swimming pools and on rides, then Aqualand Costa Adeje (formerly known as Octopus) is the ideal place to spend part of the day. It is without a doubt one of the best family oriented water parks on the island, and also runs a spectacular dolphin show. If you would prefer something more relaxed, then Aqua Club Termal is one of the largest thermal clubs in the Canary Islands. There is also Golf Costa Adeje, which is one of the Canary Islands' best golf courses and is only 5km outside of the centre of Costa Adeje.

And lastly, if you simply want to spend some quality time with your family and friends, then a great choice would be to walk along the promenade which stretches 9km from Los Cristianos to Playa Bahía del Duque in Costa Adeje, and which runs past several hotels along the beaches. Barranco del Infierno, although further away from the coast, might also be an interesting place to go for a walk and experience nature in its purest form – as well as see a waterfall at the end of the ravine.

Tenerife Travel Secret

There aren't any large rivers, lakes or waterfalls to speak of in Tenerife – apart from the waterfall in Barranco del Infierno which flows throughout the year.

The largest hotels in Costa Adeje are relatively new and, as a result, more luxurious than the hotels you might find in other areas. There is also a peaceful atmosphere and a close connection to the surrounding wildlife, both of which really help tourists to escape from their daily lives. These hotels' designs blend good taste with modern efficiency. You can find some nice hotels near Playa de Fañabé, like Jardines de Nivaria – a real paradise that is full of gardens and art-deco – or Gran Hotel Costa de Adeje and Hotel Isabel – both of which are perfect for family holidays. Hotel Colon Guanahani is an adults-only hotel and has a very peaceful atmosphere, and Sol Sun Beach Apartments offers comfort, good facilities and competitive prices.

Some other great hotels that are not too far away from Playa de Bahía del Duque are Sheraton La Caleta, which has a very relaxing ambience, or Vincci La Plantación del Sur, where you can witness breath-taking views of the ocean and the island of La Gomera from the main swimming pool. Additionally, Baobab Suites Costa Adeje offers a blend of luxury, comfort and spacious modern accommodation. And finally, just opposite Baobab Suites is the 4-star hotel Melia Jardines del Teide that boasts over 12,000 square meters of gardens – all with an ocean view. Good luck picking the perfect hotel from this amazing list! 😊

Many of Europe's best hotels can be found in the Costa Adeje area.

Royal Garden Villas is located close to Golf Costa Adeje. It is a stunning paradise of villas with an excellent sea view – as well as the advantage of being very close to the golf course.

In terms of nightlife, it's always possible to find some great bars and pubs. Achaman Discopub is an excellent option, but I'm of the opinion that the best choices can be found in Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas.

You can get to Costa Adeje by renting a car at South Tenerife Airport, which is the closer of the two. We have all personally spent a lot of time on the beaches and at the hotels in Costa Adeje. It is a fun and elegant place with a relaxed atmosphere where there is good weather and the sun shines throughout almost the entire year.

A common trait of the newer hotels in Costa Adeje is that they all have sizeable gardens, great views and enormous swimming pools. They also have unique architecture, either in keeping with the style of a small Canarian village or a more exotic Asian design. Regardless of the decor, all the hotels are of a very high quality. Costa Adeje is the perfect tourist destination as it offers a wide range of activities and entertainment suitable for all ages. The price of accommodation is competitive and there are several great beaches. All in all, Costa Adeje is without a doubt one of the best places to have a fantastic and unforgettable holiday in Tenerife.
